I just came across this beautiful pink flower on the internet.
Unfortunately, the flower is not identified.
Can anybody help me with the name of this flower?

    Thank you very much.

Brugmansia is the one of the two with pendant flowers, but I don't believe it's that. Unfortunately, I can't say what it is, though.

Not Brugmansia - those don't have visible stamens. It looks like something we have in the rainforest here; I'll take a boo through my books and get back to you.

Right.. i don't think it's brugmansia either. From the picture, I guess it's a kind of vine.

Lorax.. hope you can get the answer for us! Thanks.

Reminds me strongly of Cobaea and also of Iochroma, but the sepals are not quite right for either. Maybe something in the same family? Cobaea is in the Polemoniaceae, and Iochroma is part of Solanaceae.

Maybe your biggest clue is that it's from French Guiana; check within the tropical flowers of Brazil for possible matches since there's not much literature on the smaller country.

Regardless of what it is, it looks like it's set up to be pollinated by bats.

    Sorry I couldn't help more.

    Hi Lorax!

Thanks for more info. I will look up for those two genus and hope to find more on the plants.

I believe Datura has been dumped into Brugmansia, taxonomically, thats what I have been told anyway...
    Oh nice plant too...
