This little plant decided to grow in my flower bed and I have no idea what it is. Can anyone tell me what it could be? Thank You!

Thank you for responding. I searched Fraxinus and it looks like the leaf is not as wide as this one and so far this one only has 3 leaves grouped together on each ..stem. I have been looking at all the trees around the neighborhood and don't see anything like it.

I want to know what it is so I can move it to a new place to grow in. I dont know much about plants. This one found my flower bed and decided to grow there on its own. It doesnt look like a weed to me, this leaf is a little rough feeling not smooth.

Juvenile foliage of seedling trees is often somewhat different to adult appearance. I've found Manitoba maple seedlings growing in shade with a single leaf (as opposed to the adult trifoliate leaf) the size of the leaf of a big leaf maple (about 3x the normal area).

Your seedling struck me as an ash, as well -- could you check to see if the leaves are opposite from the main stem? And get a closer (macro) pic of the terminal bud?

I'm gonna agree with Saltcedar and Daniel. While it's a little too young for certainty, it sure looks like an ash seedling. Which Fraxinus spp, I don't know.

There are thousands of Fraxinus pennsylvanica seedlings in my yard right now. Some years I have none. The seedlings do not look like the adult green ash, at least not until they've been growing a few months.

Ok, it looks like maybe I have an ash tree growing. Now I have to find a good location to replant it.I will have to research and see where to relocate it. Thanrose you said you have these growing in your yard can you tell me about how tall I can expect this tree to get and is it a strong tree that will stand strong during wind storms? Thank you all for looking and replying.

Thanks, I think you are right. I would be better off just getting rid of it. I was hoping it was a good tree. I thought I got lucky with this one growing like it did. I planted and already killed 3 little trees this year. :( I havent given up on them yet...but it doesnt look good.

    Thank You All.
