These started growing two days ago in one of my mulch beds. They started off a brigher Orange-ish yellow but have faded a bit. Yesterday was pretty dry so that may have dried them out a bit. I can't seem to find a site that can ID them. They are small (under 5 mm), growing in clusters and like a carpet in some areas. Does anyone know what they are? Thanks!!!

You're got yourself a bird's nest fungus - Crucibulum laeve or similar.

What a great display of them! They're harmless and such a fascinating fungi. When the 'caps' open up you'll see what look like eggs. When water hits them the eggs shoot out and continue the life cycle in another location. They're the spore cases.
The life span on these are very short...and they're just helping to break down the mulch/wood.
    Very nice images!
