What is this in my Garden

in october my hubby and i purchased this house and once it warmed up I noticed weird plants growing. the plant with spiral leaves, there are 4 more evenly spaced. The second picture is of another plant it has redish brownish leaves.

 

First one looks like... probably a hosta, second looks like a maple seedling.

 

Sugar maple.
