This plant is a "rescue", for lack of a better term. Plant is about 3-4 feet tall, without the pot. Leaves are about 8-12 inches long, and very broad. Does anyone know what the name of this plant is, and also why the edges of the leaves turn brown? The ends turn brown, dry, and brittle, until the whole leaf dies and falls off. Has about 4-6 leaves with the issue at any one time.

Thanks for any information you can provide! Looks like a fun, active forum.. so many interesting topics.

Looks like Ficus lyrata, Fiddle-Leaf Fig.

THANK YOU! I believe that's exactly it! I would honestly have never guessed it was in the Ficus family. Wow.

Now if I can just find out what is causing the leaves to turn brittle and brown, I'll be set!

Thanks again for the REALLY fast response! I've got a couple of other plants that I'd like identified... I may try to post them today!

As a general rule, Ficus sp. prefer direct sunlight. You might consider doing some research on how the species grows in nature.
