Hi, I hope someone can tell me the name of this tree/shrub. I've seen one that is at least 20 feet high, and others in a shrub form. The leaves are rounded, with several on one stem, resembling mountain ash, and the flowers are light to medium pink. They are similar to the shape of a lupin. I'd also like to know if I can start a new one by rooting a branch in dirt or water. Thanks for your help!

A species or hybrid of Robinia. The commonest (R. pseudoacacia, Black Locust) has white flowers, but several others (e.g. R. hispida, R. neomexicana, R. viscosa) have dark pink flowers. These look pale pink, which rather suggests a hybrid between R. pseudoacacia and one of the dark pink ones.
