can someone please tell me what is growing here?? starting to get frustrated finding out what this is.... thanks :)
It's Plectranthus amboinicus, or if you prefer Solenostemon amboinicus. It is sometimes used as a culinary herb, known in the US as "Cuban oregano" -- though that name seems to be applied there equally to the quite dissimilar P. neochilus. That has strongly aromatic leaves too, though smelling more unpleasant and doubtfully usable as a herb. In Australia it is sometimes known as "Three-in-one herb" (or five-in-one, all-in-one, etc) A good series of pictures, showing this species' distinguishing features well.
thank you heaps for that one, was doin my head in tryin 2 figure out what it was called, knew it was edible but had no idea where it came from or what its used for though, thanks once again, i`ll be posting a few more pics and another question soon about mint, got a mint plant growing and i want to know what variety it is :)
