I was given seeds for the plant I added attachments of. No one seems to know what it is. It blooms for months. I love it but what is it? Help.

That is Celosia, looks like Celosia cristata, also known as cockscomb. This was one of my mothers favourites in the annual garden. It is easy to grow and makes a great cut flower. Try a Google Image search on celosia. There are several other interesting forms and colours worth trying in your garden next year. The plume flowered varieties are very nice in flower beds
