We are having a wonderful summer so far for fungi. The varieties of fungi sprouting around the yard surpasses anything I have seen before.

I'm not sure this is fungi or a plant. It is growing in a mossy area under a spruce tree, in proximity to some maple and pine. The soil is sandy but quite moist as there is an aquifer that runs just below the surface of the ground.

I would have guessed this a plant, but after 5 days they have still not developed any color and the bell shaped "flower" is emerging from below the surface fully formed? There are about 5 of these slowly unfurling from below the surface. they are about 5-6cm tall and completely white.

    Can some help identify these?

    Thank you
