    Hello,

I want to graft some maple seedlings. Just want to know, what is the right time and temp. for grafting red janaese maple seedlings. And what grafting method is the most effective?

Does anyone have red lace leaf seedlings and and tamukeyama seedlings??

    Thanks,

I have been preparing for summer grafting. There are many ways to propagate maples so I will just discuss the common method of grafting. The most used method of grafting maples is the side veneer graft. You can graft in the very early spring or late summer with probably a higher success rate in the very early spring. Your scion wood needs to be "hardened off" mostly either way.

Here are some links you might find useful.

I purchase my root stock, grafting supplies and scions online, many people trade scion wood with friends.

Try the book 'Maples of the world' by D. M. van Gelderen, P. C. de Jong, and H. J. Oterdoom. It has useful info about grafting time and advise.
