    what is it.jpg does anyone know the name of this plant? Is it eatable?

    This is some kind of nightshade (Solanum). I don't know, however, which species of this genus are present in your area. I'd rather not eat it because many Solanum species are more or less toxic.

    Here's the USDA list of Solanum in Texas. Bears a striking resemblance to S. ptycathum. If so is indeed poisonous. The foregoing is a guess based on a very cursory look down the list of Solanums in Texas. You might do a more rigorous look through the list to look for others that fit the plant.

    Actually any plant with S. nigrum as a synonym probably have similar characteristics. Harry
