I'm no spruce expert, but oriental spruce has very short (shortest of all spruces) needles 1/4"- 1/2" long, blunt or rounded at the apex, quadrangular in cross section with 1-4 lines of stomata on each surface
My golden oriental spruce may be a cultivar and may not be typical of the species. The species has lustrous dark green needles.
Abies Nordmanniana has almost black green needles. Can you roll the needles between your fingers? Spruce are square and roll well. Fir are flatter and don't roll.
