For Christmas, a friend of mine gave me a plant thing. There was a large seed inside of an egg. You had to soak the egg and then crack it open and eventually a plant would grow. It's sort of a kids thing (she got it at a toy store). Well, my plant was very happy living in my window and it's gotten huge in the last couple weeks. The leaves are as big as my hands and it's getting tall. I have no idea what it is. I think it's a vine. I'll try to post pictures of it (they're a few days old). Can anyone tell me what it is?

Young beans have a deep taproot, so put it in a long, narrow pot. When all danger of frost is over, plant it out, and you'll have green beans for dinner in summer. Delicious.

Thank you. Now I'm all excited to plant it back home (we live in the dorms and it wouldn't be very happy here). Are these plants very invasive?

They are garden plants, vigorous, but not invasive. They definately will not spread if you harvest all the beans.

Oh, cool. So I can definitely plant it at home. My mom would probably kill me if my plant took over her garden. Thanks so much.
