Alright, so I've got a plant in the house which is just awful, and I would like to know what it is. It's been hanging around for the past 10+ years and when asked my dad says it's a spider plant which is obviously not right. It's got tiny white flowers and little parts of it are constantly dieing and dropping leaves everywhere (you can see the dead bits in the pictures). Any ideas?
Thank you, that's what it is- I was looking at pictures of 'asparagus ferns' earlier and they didn't look anything like it. Google reveals that a couple different ferns get called asparagus ferns! Oops. So thank you for the quick ID :)
Try giving it some out door time over good weather. I grow it in a tub outside but I have safe weather all year round. If you do decide to give it some outdoor light don't put it in direct hot sunlight find a dappled area. This should bush it up and make it look a lot healthier. Liz
Black seeds inside red berries after flowering can be planted just below the soil to make new plants.
"Black seeds inside red berries after flowering can be planted just below the soil to make new plants." Unfortunatly like so many other introduced plants this has become a weed in this country so I never leave the berries on for any length of time so they can,t get away. Liz
I can imagine how this plant would grow everywhere like weeds if the seeds were left unattended where you live. As a houseplant I once had, I planted several seeds and there was no problem getting them to germinate!
