Anyone know if they went out of business? Some of the website isn't functional, and their phone is disconnected.

Their arbourist wanted to move on and apparently the owner's of the business didn't want to continue with tree moving. If you want I could ask their arbourist to contact you.

Hi growing4it, I was interested in purchasing a tree, potentially, as I'm on the hunt for one, and they had such a great selection. Is that still possible, or could the arbourist help source something unusual?

    Many thanks

I wonder how much tree growing will happen in the Fraser Valley in the future...in spite of it being an awesome climate and soil in many spots.

The large operation of Golden Eagle suffered a similar fate recently, being converted to cranberries...not enough $ return, and that decision was made before the enormous goosing of the Canadian dollar.

Wholesalers I deal with happily bring in trees from Oregon, and points farther afield.

Boondoggle, last time I checked Pacific Coast Trees was still trying to sell their stock. Are you looking for something different or something large? There's a little nursery called Eyeful Ornamentals that is also in Langley. The place is a little tangled but they seemed to have some interesting trees that might be able to help.....I'll get in touch with the arbourist from Pacific Coast Trees after the long weekend....

It's a shame that Golden Eagle closed....with so much development and the growing appreciation for trees...we really need more tree nurseries

Was this a big tree nursery camparable to "Big Trees Today" in Oregon?

They grow big trees, and transplant big tree to their nursery, as well as other transplanting and tree spade work.

It's a nice business to have around.

Here in southern Oregon, I was told by several reputable sources, that the only tree spade service went out of business, because the owner fled the country due to Al Queda connections.

He also did not have the required Oregon landscape license needed for tree planting.
