I am having trouble downloading the picture so I will try to describe it. Maybe four or more come back each year, the flower blooms only once. The blossom is orangish petals then they twist up and a large green like ball is formed and then that peels back its coating, almost like one would peel corn. It is then a seed like cluster of dark purple seeds almost resembling a very small grape cluster. The leaves are flat and long. Its flower blooms in late summer and the seed like things are happening now. It is very unique and I do not know what it is. Wondering if someone might be able to help!!!

Hard to visualise what it looks like from your description. The only thing that comes cross is Iris foetidissima, but the cluster of seeds are bright orange, not purple.
