can someone tell me what kind/type is this flower? it is on a vine with an egg shaped and size fruit , green in color at this time
Almost every flower that LOOKS like this is a passion flower. There are many, many of them, some more gorgeous than the others. This particular one, I believe, is Passiflora caerulia. It is from Brazil. It is a religeous symbol and has the common name " Blue crown passion flower". Enjoy it.
Must be heaps of passiflora flowring in the northern hemisphere. This is like the 5th "What's This" about passiflora species. See this thread for more info on passiflora (from last week). Lots of tips and tricks about the species there: http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=26738&highlight=passionfruit
