Wildflowers: What could this wildflower be?

    This photo was taken on August 1st in Colorado, at the height of approx 10500 feet, and I have been unable to identify i so far. Unfortunately it's the only picture I have, so there are no leaves to help.
    Would you know by any chance the name of this wildflower.
    appreciate your help.

    This is going to be really tough without either leaves or a flower - what you've got there is a seed-head.

    you are right, and it was a good lesson for me, next time I'll try to take more pictures which will include the leaves as well
