What are these two plants please?

    Went for a walk from Cleveland Dam to Ambleside Park along the Capilano/Pacific Trail today.

    Saw these two plants: Photo 1/2 and 3/4

    first plant...Japanese anemone

    Second plant ...Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum)

    The knotweed has the leaf shape of P. x bohemicum. It appears this is the usual one in this region, quite a bit more frequent than either parent.

    Oh J.K., an invasive species ... the hillside was covered with it.
