I obtained 5 seeds while visiting a trade show this spring. They were from some kind of fruit from turkey, I think, I know it was some where in that area. The fruit was somewhat sour and pulpy. The seeds were somewhat diamond shaped, dark brown with a lighter patch in one of the corners, they were about 3/4 of an inch in size. I decided to plant them, and now I have 4 very beautiful trees. The leaves are oval shaped. There are nine pairs on each stem. the leaves are very soft and smooth. They will close together in the evening, or when the plant needs water. The leaf pairs are directly opposite each other, but the stems are alternating on the main trunk. They are only about 4 months old, and are already about a foot tall. They appear to be healthy, and are still growing. I would just like to know what they are. Thanks.
I'm fairly certain you'll need to post an image. See the "attaching images" link in the right column.
My first guess would be Honey-locust (Gleditsia triacanthos), a species widely naturalised in southeast Europe, southwest Asia. Also check out Carob (Ceratonia siliqua)
