What are these plants?

    I checked through my edible plant guide and found bupleurum, and bupleurum looks similar to this species:

    I am not totally sure if its bupleurum though, so that is why I need your help.



    2. Chinkapin Oak in Michigan??? I thought they were only found in the west!
