I have a tree (I believe) that came with the house I bought, and I would like to identify it because I think it works beautifully with the remodel we are undertaking... any guesses? The bark is very flaky and perhaps it belongs to the Myrtaceae family along with Eucalyptus and Bottlebrush?

Thanks David! It would appear that you are spot on! An Australian Tea Tree... No wonder it grows so well in San Diego!
