I'm pretty pleased with my curry operations (thanks junglekeeper!) Now am I looking at brute force or delicate surgery for my banana pup? BTW, are all these subsurface sprouts called pups regardless of species?
This is a pretty informative link on the propagation of bananas. Dividing Banana Pups – Can You Transplant A Banana Tree Pup And yes, offshoots of all varieties of bananas are called pups.
I believe the OP is asking about offshoots of other plants, such as the one in this other thread: Propagation: - How do you divide a curry plant?
Thanks for the link pmurphy. I'll post a photo if it takes. And yes I was asking about offshoots of other plants. Are they also called pups?
I usually refer to this type of natural propagation as offsets. I think pups is more or less a 'slang' term for it and applies to all plants that do it.
