I rescued this sad golden pothos a bit ago from a grocery store and it had gotten horribly root bound and was way overwatered. I got it a nice roomy pot and new soil, and up until recently it’s been doing great. I’ll be honest, I’ve never dealt with a root bound plant and didn’t loosen the root ball very well when I repotted the first time. So, when I took it out to inspect its roots I noticed it was still looking pretty bad and the middle was way soggy, so I untangled it to my best abilities and cut off all the wet feet/beginnings of what I’m pretty sure was root rot, used fungicide, and cleaned out the pot and replaced the soil. That was yesterday. This morning I woke up and the poor thing is wilting and the leaves are really limp. Is this just shock from losing a lot of roots to the root rot? Will it recover if I just let it be for a little bit?
You may try to cover the plant with a transparent dome or lid for keeping the air around leaves humid temporarily. You may use a large cake box cover for this, or put the pot into a bucket and use food film wrap to cover it from top.
