What’s living in YOUR soil?

    This, I think, can be aptly classified as a “sibling” post to go with the IPM post I put up in the recent past.

    do you have beneficial/pathogenic insects in your soil or on your plants? Springtails? Mites(of which there are many)? Got aphids? Mealy bugs?
    Post a picture, let’s figure it out. The first step is knowing what you’re up against. Arm yourself with knowledge.

    I’ll go first!

    I use a variety of beneficial insects in my indoor gardening. Detrivores and predator mites.

    springtails x 2 different varieties

    mould mites

    stratiolaelaps scimitus(hypoaspis) soil mite

    wood lice

    this list is going to grow in the near future. As IPM strategy evolves, etc
