It is a wonderful place for tree lovers, thanks for posting some great photos. Brings back memories. I do hope they sort out the disease problem in Silk Wood. (Ash die back).
I wish I had got there earlier to be honest, I spent about 4 hours there, it really deserved a full day, if not two. Many of the large leafed Japonicum have coloured up and started to fall e.g. Vitifolium, so if anyone wants to see those, they will need to visit very soon. I spotted 2 P. pentaphyllum, one was about a metre the other about 3m, they looked pretty healthy but not the very best on show, they do look like a tricky cultivar..
