Few more more magnificent place as per! Second photo is Mirt..the last was labelled as schichihenge..but looks more like Olsens Frosted Strawberry with a peaches and cream shape leaf!!!?

The side where they had removed diseased ash trees didn’t look much different to what I saw in November..maybe there’s a whole section I’m not aware of lol Do you mean the left hand side over the tree walk ?
The section is Silk wood (the 'newer section' of the arboretum). I've circled the zone in the map. That's where there are the widest varieties of JM in Westonbirt (the old part mostly contains the 'Amoenum' type). I think the Koto no ito in your photos is from the Silk wood area (last autumn it looked awesome in all its orange glory!)
I didn’t think I’d missed anything..Generally spend about 5-7 hours there!! There is a section on the top left I haven’t explored
