This last spring I noticed an Alder tree with some extremely bright red type of growth on the leaves. I brought a sample to the local garden center but they were unable to identify what the growth was. I'm now seeing the foliage on my cedar starting to turn a burnt red colour. This particular cedar is at least 100years old with a 3ft diameter at it's base and has never had anything but beautiful foliage.
The alder tree is pretty much history but the effects seem to be shifting to the Pines as well as the Cedar.
Can anyone advise, or help me figure out what the problem is, and hopefully remedy it before I end up with a 200ft cedar tree crashing through my house.

The whole thing is reddish, or just the innermost foliage?

The outermost foliage has turned reddish brown and some of the branches look like they are dying.
