    At least with this one, I have a location. It was found in a Hawaiian botanical garden.

    I think it may be balsa, Ochroma pyramidale. See photo in W3TROPICOS.

    Oh, I agree Tony! I found photographs of it here:

    Bombacaceae.

    As a side note (and by some coincidence), that page also seems to show something that looks very much like what the other mystery fruit might be - Huberodendron?
