    Hi,

We're stumped here at the garden with two tropical fruit we've recently encountered. Thought I'd scan them and post here and see if anyone else knows them / can figure them out.

The challenge with this first one is that I've no idea where in the world this came from. It was part of a donation of items to the garden.

After seeing the photographs of Bombacaceae in confirming the ID in the other related thread, I'm leaning toward Huberodendron.

The brown capsule looks like whole tamarind pods I've seen in Persian food stores. Not sure...just a guess.

Tamarind has pointy tips - not blunt like that. They look like oversized, browned, dried, harden bean pods.

To me it looks like a teak seed. Very similar to three I just planted.
