This tree has quite the story. It is about 17 years old and for the last 7 or 8 years my parents have hated it. They have been trying to slowly kill it all that time by only watering it once or twice a month and keeping it in the same soil all of its life. When I found this out, I re potted it with good soil and I am now watering it twice a week. Does anybody know what kind of plant this is so I can read up on how to properly care for it.

Dracaena marginata, Madagascar Dragon Tree, to be more precise.
