Like many Weigela cultivars 'Bristol Ruby' is not a pure form of W. florida but rather a hybrid, in this case between W. florida and W. 'Eva Rathke'. Like 'Eva Rathke' it should be listed as W. ___ without the florida included. Cultivar names are properly listed after species names only when that species is the sole one involved in their parentage.
