I have a 3 years old weeping willow three and she is showing yellow leaves all over it. I took one branch and showed to a tech in the place that we bought and he said that the three was a litllebit stressed and it was normal. I don't want to lose my beautifull three acting late, so I'm asking if anybody have had this problem before and what shall I do. Thank you very much. (Junior)
Too dry? Willows like it quite damp, one going yellow at this time of the year I would first suspect was getting dry at the root. They are also subject to various pests and diseases, as are other plants. Going by how you have described it here, sounds like you got the brushoff, by the way. I've worked at a place where one of the owners told someone who brought in a leafless Japanese maple in summer that it was still alive because the twigs were still green, thus avoiding giving them a refund or replacement. You should have been told what kind of stress it was thought your tree had--likely drought stress--and what to do about it. Excessive amount of yellowing and shedding does indicate a problem, which, once identified, can be addressed. Try another "tech" or local Cooperative Extension representation (branch office, Master Gardener clinic).
