I had a customer today that brought in a sample branch of some variety of a weeping cypress"chamecypress" tree that is turning black. 3-4 of the branches are blackening. They have recently put in fertilizer spikes. I'm thinking they have scorched the roots by putting the spikes too close? I have seen many incidences of browning needles but a 1st for very black discolouration. Any insight?
