I have 3 weeping cherries would like to plant this week. Need to know 1st what kind of root system they have. Do they go staight down or are they spreaders. Have a well @ 25' from where want one. Do they seek out water pipes?

The roots (like those of nearly all trees) are mostly spreading, not much going down. They (again like any roots) will 'seek out' leaky pipes, but not sound pipes (they can only detect extra water in the soil from a leak, not through the pile wall).

Usually grafted on sweet cherry (Prunus avium) which tends to produce protruding surface roots that can actually lift sidewalks given enough time, may also sucker to form groves if not checked. However, some weeping cherries are being grafted on dwarfing 'Gisela' rootstock lately, these will be signed/labeled "dwarf." Commonly offered, white-flowering cultivar Snow Fountains TM = 'Snofozam' is also grown from cuttings.

The one Weeping Cherry that is planted has cascades of beautiful white flowers. The other 2 are pink buds. Since 1 will be close to a long drive don't want to plant anything that may eventually lift or break it.
