hi all, new to the forums and i have a bit of a problem. I live in NJ and got hit with Sandy, I have a 10 year old weeping blue atlas cedar. It was flooded with salt water as the ocean met the bay and flooded out my neighborhood...all the needles are turning brown and pouring off, the tree is almost naked. there are a few branches which still have the needles in tact but not many....could it just be in shock or did the salt water probably kill it...i am sick over this...one of my weeping spruces isn't doing that great either but the other two i have seem ok....any thoughts???

    Thanks,
    Lisa

Sorry, but the prospects are not good. Cedars like well-drained mountain soils, and aren't adapted to coping with flooding and even less so with salt water flooding.
