I dropped some seeds from a packet that was supposed to be Lavender, and this plant showed up. Any idea what it is? It looks great and I'm considering transplanting it into it's own pot and take it indoors. http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m59/Amnesia_Wes/DSC00104.jpg http://s101.photobucket.com/albums/m59/Amnesia_Wes/?action=view¤t=DSC00104.jpg
Yes, it will grow indoors. However, I should imagine with your fabulous climate it will be very happy outside. In Britain they are killed by the cold if left outside. http://health.learninginfo.org/coleus.htm They come in many vibrant colours! http://images.google.com/images?q=c...1I7SUNA_en-GB&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi
Thanks again. It seems I've hit the jackpot! I want to keep the plant because it is beautiful, but only if it wasn't toxic or bad for the children and pets.
it'll do just fine outdoors in your climate - here we need to take them inside once it starts getting towards freezing. there are MANY varieties of coleus!! and most are very beautiful. they flower, also - most have insignificant blooms though. i don't think they're toxic to kids/pets. not quite sure though - may cause some minor issues if ingested; nothing fatal though.
