I have a multi-flow ebb and flow bucket hydroponic system. The roots that are starting to come out of the bottom of the buckets have spider webs on them. It's already killed serveral batches of plants. I thought that they were fungus gnats, but I've tried nematodes, pyretheum (for the adults), and gnatrol. Nothing has worked. If you know what this is please help me.

"spider webs", Do you mean some type of fungus/mold? or actual spider webs? If they're spider webs, can't you just wipe them off? And/or maybe you can consider trimming the roots, although depends what plant it is (if it's going to flower/harvest, you probably shouldn't). Good luck.

I don't know if they are from mold/bacteria, or if they are bug related. I had a feeling that they were from fungus gnat larvae, and no they don't just wipe off. They make the leaves droop severely and start to yellow and eventually die. How would I find out what it is? Do you think that a good cleaning will stop it?
