One of the photos is of a purple waterlily, and the other is of the rare blue lotus (the more violet colored waterlily), taken in April. These were taken at the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers, a beautifully restored conservatory/glasshouse in Golden Gate Park. In the same room as the waterlilies, they have a large collection of carnivorous plants, if you ever get a chance to visit. I can't find a complete plant list on their website, so I am missing the scientific names for the waterlilies.
