Hey all I'm new here, but not new to growing things and experimenting. I love to find things out in the wild and bring some back to try to propagate. I recently found some Watercress growing in a local creek but upon researching upstream there is a very small 1 acre farm the creek runs through. I'm wondering how long it might take to take cuttings to aspirate or lose any toxins that might be present. I'm putting the cuttings in an NFT system.

cheers and look forward to being here!!!

What sort of toxins are you concerned about? Organic waste?

yes...there is a small farm upstream. Fecal matter is what i'm worried about. Will new growth be free of this, if present?

...or, how long until it is clean?

I think the only guarantee will be growing it to seed production, then starting from seed. I'm reading about liver fluke persistence from sheep feces in watercress, and if something like that can last at least 3 months...
