Hello, recently I've gotten into entertaining the idea of a bonsai cherry tree. I have several pits I collected, but forgetful me left them in my jeans and they were washed and possibly sent through the dryer before my wife discovered them. Could this have made them non-viable for planting?

Depends on the temperature of the wash cycle. Anything over about 40-50°C may have killed them.
