Hi, I am working on creating a new sunny border at my home with mostly day lillies and daisies. I would like to try to create something like what is here: http://www.mariavonbrincken.com/photos/pe04.jpg Can anyone tell me the names of the flowers, especially the purple ones in the front, the orange ones on the upper left beneath the shadow (looking at them closer they don't seem to be daylillies?) , and orange ones at the very top right? Thanks for any help with my project! This is a wonderful forum! KJ
The purple ones in the front look like Allium sphaerocephalon. An ornamental onion. Common names Drum stick Allium or Round headed Leek. http://images.google.com/images?q=a...n-gb:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7SUNA_en-GB&um=1&sa=2
Top left, orange flowers, praps Calendula. http://images.google.com/images?hl=...esnum=0&q=calendula&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi
Thanks for all the replies so far and so quick! I thought I would write again because when I was writing that message I was looking at the mirror image of the image I actually linked you to! So I meant to say "the orange ones on the upper right beneath the shadow (looking at them closer they don't seem to be daylillies?) , and orange ones at the very top left." Aack! Sorry for any confusion! KJ
The other flowers on the right ( below the shadow) may be one of the Asiatic lilies. They look a softer colour on my screen. Pic not clear enough, to be sure http://www.townofbeausejour.com/info/wp-content/photos/lisa__s_peach_asiatic_lily.jpg
Purple, foreground - drumstick allium orange, peachy and pink, foreground - Hemerocallis, daylily orange, center left - Asiatic hybrid lily white - shasta daisy Yellow - left side, top - Coreopsis (not calendula)
