Hi . Not exactly a tree or plant problem , but more to with the behaviour of Male Robins . We just went through a stage where the Robin and his mate fought off Steller Jays . We saw 1 offsping and later a Robins egg on the ground . The female has disappeared with the youngster . About a week ago dawn to dusk warbling started in a tree next door . Acouple of days ago a male Robin landed on our lawn and the same sound emmited from him . Now I identified the source . What's this all about ? Looking for a new mate ? I can hear distant sounds which sound very similar . I wonder if the female was prey to one of the neighbourhood cats . As nice as it is after a week or so I would have thought the Robin would have developed laryngitis . Any thoughts or direction to this queerie ? Is there a Dept. of Orinthology at UBC ? Roger
Maybe it's just thrilled by how you have your garden arranged. I'd search things like "birds bc" or "robin behavior" to see what I could find.
