    Any idea what these are? Possibly Dog Violets or Sweet Violets

    Here the one seen growing like this, including as a lawn weed is Viola riviniana. But figuring out which one you are looking at there for sure will involve learning what specific anatomical features separate them. There is a large number of violet species, with many looking similar to one another.
