Hi.. I've been trying to figure out what this vine is for a couple of years now. It showed up in a pile of topsoil we bought and has come back every year since although in a different place, so I think it is an annual. It is very fast growing. I can't remember what the early summer flowers look like, might be small whitish-green but nothing that gets your attention, although the thorny seed pods sure do!

I saw a post with a similar leafed vine and someone suggested Echinocystis, but the seed pod does not match this one.

I'm in Pennsylvania, zone 5. Help anyone?
