Hi guys, I'm trying to identify this vine covering the back fence and yard. Seems to be the source of our spider problem (counted a number of spiders scrambling in it, as well as webs I've hosed down).

    Thanks!

Aptenia cordifolia. Spiders are beneficial predators that kill nuisance insects, getting rid of any and all spiders encountered is not a good idea. Giant house spiders all over the house or black widows in the garage, different story.

With this reddish colour, it's more likely to be Aptenia 'Red Apple' (a cross between A. cordifolia and A. haeckeliana).

I'd be more worried about stable flies in Aptenia, if you're in a rural area.
