    Awesome. We used to see a starling flock at my childhood home but the annual gathering may have been a few hundred birds, enough to make a deafening cacophony but its been years since they gathered there.

    I used to see them do that while waiting for the WSF Ferry in Friday Harbor to go home to Lopez, Is. We would watch them for a while and then they would all suddenly disapear - under the Ferry Dock - rest there for a while and then fly out again. We always figured eventually they would crash into one another but they never did. Ain't nature wonderful! barb
