I have 6 mature summer snowflake 3 of which had a severe aphid infestation last summer. At this point Feb, they are very unsightly with stalks /stems covered in black. They are starting to bud and appear to be alive. Any suggestions for what I should do? my garden is a naturescape garden so I only use organic remedies.
    thank you Brenda

Can the black , assuming sooty mold from the aphids, be hosed off with water ? Safer's Insecticidal Soap works well on aphids if they show up again, www.treehelp.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=WS-5118 . A photo may help.
