I am planning to plant a viburnum in a corner of my garden where I am trying to create a "woodland" feel, but don't know enough about the different species to choose. Can anyone give me some advice?

    Some desireable characteristics would be:

-hardy to -10 degrees F or lower
-adaptable to wet, heavy clay soil
-late flowering (to withstand late frosts)
-compact (less than six feet in height and width would be ideal, but up to 10 would be acceptable)

    I would appreciate your suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Jim

Some of the better choices for a woodland feel would be Viburnum dentatum "Blue Muffins", V. dilitatum "Cardinal Candy", and V. trilobum dwf types.
