My entire perennial bed has been invaded by this delicate leafed vine that wraps itself around all and every flower stem - around lily leaves, my astilbe, brown eyed susan stems - wherever and whatever they can.
The leaves are quite small and vine stems very thin and very tightly wound around...they break since they are so delicate when you try to pull them off. Impossible to pull them out by the root. Not sure where it came from but it is growing in full force and rampant. Bad enough I have creeping charlie to deal with and now this!
Any help identifying it and what to do other than tear apart my entire garden bed.
I have included some photos. (I should mention I live in Eastern Ontario near Ottawa.)
    Thanks in advance!

Does this root pic identify the Hog bean vine?

A member identified my invasive vine as the Hog bean vine. I have included a photo of the root if anyone can confirm that it is the Hog bean vine. If so, it is rampant throughout my bed which is large and would be impossible to remove...
unless someone has an idea as to what I should do about it - other than tear up my entire garden? Where would it have come from?

saltcedar knows his stuff. You might want to dig around on the web a bit.

I live in Eastern Ontario Canada. I had one of these vines growing at my old house and it will grow anywhere and everywhere, choaking out whatever is in it's way. Not sure what it's called, but glad I dont have to deal with it again.
